Meg's Story

Meg-A-Latte: Brewing Community One Cup at a Time

for Meg Wold, coffee isn’t just a beverage—it’s a way of life. As a college student managing a coffee shop, Meg fell in love with the unique energy of coffee shop culture. The aroma of fresh-brewed espresso, the gentle hum of conversation, and the sense of connection fostered by a simple cup of coffee left a lasting impression. She saw firsthand how a coffee shop could be more than just a business; it could be the heartbeat of a community.

After college, Meg returned to her hometown of Williston, North Dakota, with a dream of creating something of her own. As a mom with a deep love of coffee and a vision for connecting with her community, the answer was clear—a coffee shop. In February 2012, she opened the doors to her first location, calling it Meg-A-Latte, a playful nod to her passion for coffee.

The little shop quickly became a beloved local hub. Customers came not just for the coffee but for the warm, welcoming atmosphere Meg had envisioned back in her college days. From early-morning regulars to study groups and friends catching up, Meg-A-Latte became a space where the community could gather, relax, and connect.

Over the years, Meg-A-Latte grew beyond Williston. The success of her first location inspired Meg to expand, and today, her dream has blossomed into a thriving business with three locations in Williston, as well as shops in Watford City and Minot. But Meg-A-Latte isn’t stopping there. With a commitment to spreading her love for coffee and community, she is currently opening new locations in Bismarck, Grand Forks, and Fargo, bringing her signature warmth and exceptional coffee to even more North Dakota communities.
